Android 5.0 Lollipop on Samsung Galaxy S5 – Update on Rollout Status

The Korean phone makers are presently nurturing the Samsung Galaxy S5 having the Android v5.0 Lollipop update.
In addition, Samsung has been looking forward to catering the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3 and Note 4 with the recent Android update. However, these versions are available in selected nations only. Let us find details about the recent Android update and the information on its status.
The Android v5.0 Lollipop OS for the Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3 and Note 4 rolled out early December last year. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was updated with the latest software, the preceding day. Furthermore, the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy Note 4 received the latest update in Germany.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S4, powered with Exynos (I9500) is the foremost S4 model to receive the Android v5.0 Lollipop update. The device was rolled out on February 2, 2015 in Russia and later extended to India. The LTE-A model has also been updated to the recent Android Lollipop OS earlier this February. The updated device would make its first appearance in Germany, Slovakia and Czech Republic.
There is some respite for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users, with the device likely to get the latest Android v5.0 Lollipop operating system. The South Korean giant made an announcement in Poland, but the Company failed to come out with estimated time of arrival for its updated version.
The latest Android v5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3 and Note 4 rolled out in different phases. It implies that not all users would receive updates simultaneously. When the update is ready to be installed on the terminal, you would receive a notification for system update. You are required to tap on the update, select ‘Download now’. After the update is downloaded on your device, select ‘Install now’ option. Alternatively, the user can select update manually by exploring into the “Settings” option. The user can check for updates in ‘Software Updates’ section under ‘About Phone’ option.
On the other hand, you have to get hold of the USB cable and connect the device to the computer and check for updates. However, it is notable that your phone must run on stock software and should be qualified to obtain the OTA update. The firmware should have a size of more than 800MB and download should be made using Wi-Fi network along with more than 50% battery charge.
