OS 7 comes with some really nice features and Activation Lock feature in Find My iPhone is one of them. Some of you might be wondering that what does this feature actually do and how it’s related to unlocking? Below we’re going to try to explain it to you.
If you had Find My iPhone in iOS 6 and you updated to iOS 7 or you installed it after upgrading to iOS 7, Activation Lock feature will be enabled automatically. If God forbid, some thief steals your phone, it’ll ask him your Apple ID and Password to perform the following tasks.
  • Turn off Find My iPhone on your device
  • Erase your device
  • Reactivate and use your device
It means that reselling your phone for a thief will become a lot more difficult, your data will remain secure and chances of locating your handset will also increase. Before the introduction of this feature tech-savvy thieves could easily remove the SIM card and restore your phone to resell it.

If you’re using iOS 7 and Find My iPhone is enabled on your handset, it’s necessary that you disable it before unlocking. You can disable it be performing the following steps.
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on iCloud.
  3. Sign in with your Apple ID if required.
  4. Turn off Find My iPhone.
  5. If you used our unlocking service then in order to complete the process, insert some non-AT&T SIM card in your handset.
  6. Turn on your phone and connect it to iTunes.
  7. If connecting your phone doesn’t unlock your Apple device then restore it via iTunes.
  8. After restore, your phone will be unlocked.
If you bought your phone from eBay or some other person, you need to make sure that previous owner has turned off Find My iPhone and erased all contents and settings.
activation-lock-ios-7Before ordering our AT&T iPhone unlock service, please make sure that you can turn off Find My iPhone on iOS 7 because most of the times unlock process completion requires restoring your device via iTunes.
